System Design

MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR comprises of the following units depending on operating mode:

  1. SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR Main Control Panel Unit
  2. SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR Final Recording Medium Unit
  3. SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR UPS Unit
  4. SELMA MAESTRO VDR (only) PLC Unit

SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR and VDR System Design

SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR is the result of extensive research and development, taking into consideration everyone involved into the process of installing, surveying and running the system.

Installation and testing of the SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR could not be easier.

Both S-VDR and VDR system configurations come equipped with the required Bridge/Wing microphones.

Data recording specifications

In accordance with IMO.163(78) Requirement:

  • Standard Recording Date
  • NMEA IEC61162 : Date and Time
  • NMEA IEC61162 : Ship’s Position (EPFS/INS 0.0001 min of arc) / GPS
  • NMEA IEC61162 : Speed (Up to a resolution of 0.1 kn) /Speed Log
  • NMEA IEC61162 : Heading (Up to a resolution of 0.1◦) /Gyro
  • Bridge/Wing Audio (Microphones Location Chart Tables/PA System/Conning Station etc)
  • Communication Audio (VHFx2)
  • Radar Data (Position Display Selection) / AIS Data (If Radar Signal not available)

Additionally all main bridge alarms and extra data (A.861) are recorded if available in NMEA IEC61162 format:

  • Bridge Main Alarms
  • Echo Sounder
  • Rudder Order and Response
  • Engine Order and Response
  • Hull Doors Openings Status
  • Water Tight and Fire Doors Status
  • Acceleration and Hull Stresses
  • Wind Speed and Direction
