SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR and VDR

MAESTRO S/VDR System with Float and Fixed CapsulesSELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR is a Simplified Voyage Data Recorder or a standard Voyage Data Recorder system for existing cargo as well as new building ships.

Maestro system has a small form factor, suitable for existing ships with reduced tonnage and limited installation area on the bridge.

The main objective of SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR is similar to a “black box” flight data recorder on airplanes. More specifically S-VDRs and VDRs are used to record and maintain data in a secure and restorable form regarding position, movement, physical status, command and control of a ship over the period leading up and following an incident.

All stored information is available for use during any subsequent investigation to identify the cause(s) of the incident.

Additionally, recorded data can be used for preventive maintenance, performance efficiency monitoring, heavy weather damage analysis, accident avoidance and training purposes to improve safety and reduce running costs.

Unique design

SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR is the result of extensive research and development, taking into consideration everyone involved into the process of installing, surveying and running the system.

Installation and testing of the SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR could not be easier.

MAESTRO VDR Main Unit - In operationWith a unique compact design, SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR, is the only Voyage Data Recorder system available in the market with a 10″ Colour TFT display on its main panel. Performing real-time monitoring of all connected navigation bridge instruments and recorded data during the ship’s voyage and at port. This feature alone is very important for Port State Control and Class Survey, reducing the required testing time to minimum, while offering reliable output at the same time.

System Software

The MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR system software comes, in most cases, preconfigured for each ship based on a survey carried out by crew or a SELMA Engineer, which reduces dramatically the deployment time.

However, the simple yet powerful interface offers unparalleled flexibility for the configuration and parameterisation of the system, expanding its use even beyond the S-VDR/VDR specifications, should that be required.

Compliance

SELMA MAESTRO S-VDR/VDR is designed to comply with and exceed the following Rules and Regulations:

  • IMO Resolution MSC.163(78)
  • IMO Resolution A.694(17)
  • IMO Resolution MSC.214(81)
